The Gnar Trail 29er wheelset is engineered to withstand the mechanical stresses of Trail, All Mountain, and e-MTB riding. Its Toray T700 and T800 carbon rim features hookless walls and an asymmetric profile, optimizing tension balance between spoke beds. The forged and CNC-machined 7075 aluminum hub integrates a 36-tooth star ratchet freehub system for instantaneous drivetrain engagement under load.

Key Features

A localized reinforcement of 38 layers of carbon fiber surrounds each spoke hole to prevent nipple pull-through under high stress.

The hookless rim bead wall features a 17% increased thickness compared to previous standards to maximize impact tolerance at low pressures.

A 3.5mm asymmetric offset balances length and tension between left and right spokes, increasing the wheelset's lateral stiffness.

Each wheel undergoes a stress-relief cycle repeated 16 times during assembly to lock in geometry and guarantee a wheel-truing tolerance below 0.2mm.

Compatibility

These wheels can be configured with a 6-bolt disc brake interface. The freehub body is available in Shimano HG, Shimano MicroSpline (MS), or SRAM XD standards to accommodate most cassettes on the market. The 30mm internal width rims are validated for tire sections ranging from 2.2" to 3.1", allowing easy tubeless setup with a standard floor pump.
