The Tundra is Hutchinson's technical gravel tyre, engineered for demanding terrain: muddy forest trails, rocky descents, off-camber sections, and root-strewn singletracks. Inspired by the Black Mamba XC tyre, its tread design retains only the essential knobs to shed mud efficiently without sacrificing rolling speed on hardpack or tarmac transfers. The tan wall version, made in France, features bead-to-bead Hardskin protection, while the black version comes equipped with Reinforced+ reinforcement.
Key Features
MTB-inspired tread pattern: Inherited from the Black Mamba, the minimalist knob layout sheds mud effectively while biting into roots, rocks, and off-camber slopes. It ensures predictable control when conditions get technical.
Dual-compound rubber: A harder compound on the central tread resists wear on fast-rolling sections, while a softer compound on the side knobs provides maximum grip through corners and off-camber sections.
Bead-to-bead Hardskin: The Made in France tan wall version features a woven grid layer beneath the tread extending from bead to bead, shielding the casing against punctures and sidewall cuts on rocky descents.
127 TPI Tubeless Ready casing: A supple casing designed to run at lower pressures, delivering optimal grip, comfort, and compliance over rough terrain without inner tubes.
Compatibility
The Tundra is a 700c Tubeless Ready tyre available in 40, 45, and 50 mm widths (ETRTO 40-622, 45-622, 50-622). It fits hooked and hookless rims when paired with appropriate tubeless rim tape and sealant. The 50 mm version is suited for high-clearance gravel frames built for aggressive off-road riding.
