The Hope Union TC pedal is a clipless pedal for trail and all-mountain riding. Around the mechanism, a large platform carries adjustable pins: when you ride unclipped or through a technical section, your foot keeps its support instead of sliding on the gates. The body is CNC-machined in Barnoldswick.
Key Points
Large contact area: the platform extends beyond the mechanism and increases sole contact. Power transfer stays crisp and your foot does not rock when you push.
Adjustable pins: up to four pins per side, screwed in to suit the height of your sole. In muddy conditions they grip the sole when you are unclipped.
Treated Cr-Mo axle: a hardened, plated chromoly steel axle, built for impacts. A titanium version is available separately if you want to save weight.
Three bearings and an IGUS bush: rotation stays smooth, and the pedal comes apart to be regreased. Nothing is sealed shut.
Compatibility
9/16 inch thread, the standard for mountain bike cranks. 55 mm Q-factor, the distance between your two pedals: your feet stay close together and aligned so you can pedal without your knees splaying out.
